Professor Chung Ming-An from the Department of Electronics has been invited to participate in two special interview programs, "New Technology for the Future" and "Breakthrough Perspectives," on the National Education Radio. With the theme of smart canes/AI-assisted devices for the visually impaired, the discussion will focus on the transformation of scientific research and innovation, highlighting the importance of creating value through technological advantages and promoting the development of a more robust entrepreneurial environment in Taiwan. Professor Chung will share his 15 years of experience as a research and development supervisor in the technology industry, as well as his background in electronic engineering and special education, to lead two students, Song-Yun Chai and Chia-Chun Hsu, in a discussion about the challenging process of research and design.

        In addition to sharing his experience in guiding students and designing products, Professor Chung will also discuss his involvement in the Ministry of Education's "International Talent Cultivation Program for Smart Sensing and Applications," which aims to continuously optimize the smart canes/AI-assisted devices for the visually impaired.       Finally, in the last part of the interview, Professor Chung also talked about the research and teaching capabilities of National Taipei University of Technology, as well as the important role of the university in practical research among science and technology universities. He shared his insights with the nationwide audience. Professor Chung Ming-An also explained how to actively guide university students to cultivate their design and development skills, and help them find direction between business and academia, to showcase their talents in various national competitions. He guides students to innovate and create a framework for design thinking, in order to enhance their sensitivity to the healthcare needs of an aging society, break through traditional thinking frameworks, and further cultivate teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit, creating a healthy and friendly environment for smart healthcare in Taiwan, and jointly shaping the blueprint for the development of smart healthcare in Taiwan.
