In order to foster computer education in Chinese schools in Thailand, 700 computers were donated from education foundation at Yunnan guildhall in Thailand in this February. Although the intention is good, only few schools had qualified teachers to conduct related courses.
To find some assistance, Director of the education foundation at Yunnan guildhall in Thailand Ho Yong-en, also a Taipei Tech alumnus contacted Taipei Tech. After communication and planning, Taipei Tech decided to send 9 students of the Department of Electronic Engineering to Thailand as volunteer teaching assistants. Led by Military Training Instructor surnamed Li, Taipei Tech service team left for Thailand on July 19. In this 8 day journey, they visited over 45 elementary schools and middle schools and shared their professional techniques including computer operation and equipment maintenance. Both local seed teacher and student learned a lot from the instruction and illustration.
To express gratitude and showcase hospitality, Director Ho invited the team to see the beautiful Pattaya scenery before they headed back home.
